CMC TOPS BILLBOARD MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS
(San Francisco) -- California Music Channel and Country Music Channel were named the number one local/regional Pop and Country music television stations at Billboard Magazine's 21st Annual Music Video Conference held November 12 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. This is the fourth Billboard conference award for each CMC station.
CMC is one of the longest running and most successful local music video services in the country. California Music Channel, launched March 1, 1982, is broadcast live Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday night from 12:30 to 1:00 a.m. on KTSF-TV Channel 26 and Digital 26.1& 26.2 San Francisco. Country Music Channel, launched September 4, 1992, was broadcast Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on KFWU Channel 8 San Francisco (Fort Bragg) and KTNC Channel 42 San Francisco (Concord). KTSF and KFWU+KTNC are carried on all Bay Area cable systems.
CMC Program Director Andy Kawanami credits CMC's on-air talent, outstanding ratings, innovative programming, promotions, and technology, and as well as CMCTV.COM for this honor by the music industry. At the time of the awards, California Music Channel DJs were Trace & Franzen, Cynthia Roberts, and Chuy Gomez. Country Music Channel Music Director and Host was Bay Area radio and tv pro, Steve Jordan.

The Billboard Music Video Awards, celebrating the achievements of the music video industry, was the wrap-up event to the 21st annual Billboard Music Video Conference, a three-day conference where industry professionals analyzed the issues facing the visual music video industry.
